As tensions in Ukraine increase, countries in Central and Eastern Europe that are geographically close to Ukraine are hurrying to prepare to accept refugees. Neighboring Poland is expecting up to 1 million people, and local governments have begun working to secure accommodations. If a large number of refugees actually arrive, each country will have to share the responsibility for accepting them. The unity of Europe as a whole will be put to the test.
