British Shell to Withdraw from "Sakhalin 2" Gazprom Joint Venture Dissolved

On the 28th, the British oil giant Shell announced its plan to withdraw from the "Sakhalin 2" oil and gas development project in the Russian Far East. The joint venture with Russia's state-owned gas giant Gazprom will be dissolved, and Shell will also withdraw from its interests in the Salim oil field in Siberia, which it has jointly developed. The company harshly criticized Russia's invasion of Ukraine and decided that it would be difficult to continue the project.
