Japanese Government Considers Allowing Ukrainian Displaced Persons to Enter Japan Visa-Free

At a meeting of the House of Representatives Committee on Justice on January 1, the government indicated that it intends to adjust special exceptions for waterfront measures when accepting evacuees from Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia. The government will consider measures such as allowing people to enter without visas and removing the cap of 5,000 people per day from the maximum number of people to enter the country.
