Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on the evening of April 4 that he had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky on the same evening. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reportedly told Zelensky that the attack by Russian forces on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in Ukraine "is an outrage that must not be tolerated, and as Japan experienced the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.
